Thesis III (May 2005), Interlochen, MI, USA
By attending school in a new country I became very aware of the importance of the traditions of in my own culture. The experiences I gained in the few years I spent in these surroundings began to make me feel distanced from the relationships I had with people and places back home.

I did not want to forget them or the importance of my culture.

Through my frustration, I began using repetitive patterns in my work, which allowed me to begin a meditative process that helped me reminisce the places from home that I longed to be.

Most of my work is based on geometrical shapes.

By using the simplicity of geometrical shapes I was able to relate them to specific memories from my past.
